Chemkit relicensed under the BSD license

As of today the chemkit library is licensed under the 3-clause BSD license. The new license file can be seen here.

The BSD license is far simpler and far less restrictive than the previously used GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL). This new license should allow for a much wider usage of the chemkit library.

  1. Congratulations!

I notes in the list of features that chemkit can calculate Gasteiger charges... I assume those are just the Gasteiger sigma charges, not the pi charges, correct?

  2. I think BSD is the way to go for scientific software. It allows maximum reuse.

  3. @Egon Thats correct. As of now only the sigma charge prediction is implemented.
